Source: Kemp's Nine Dayes' Wonder

Probably the most famous picture of a tabourer: Thomas Slye, playing for Will Kemp, on Kemp's Nine Dayes' Wonder. Will Kemp fell out with Shakespeare, and so, just to show who's boss, danced from London to Norwich in 9 days. Nowadays, Kemp's dancing has been translated into 75 different languages, whereas Shakespeare remains an obscure English playwright. Incidently, Kemp's nine days were well spaced, over a period of about one and a half years.
