Panchavadyam,
an ensemble of five percussion instruments, is traditionally associated
with temple festivals in Kerala (South India). The picture, taken
during a Sampradaya documentation project in October 1998, shows
a group playing Panchavadyam at the Mullakal temple during the
Navaratri celebrations in Alepey in Kerala.
